Direct flight Chisinau-Athens might be launched soon

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ - A direct flight between the capitals of Greece and Moldova might be launched soon. The concerned subject was discussed at a meeting between President Maia Sandu and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotákis in Athens.

„ „At the discussion, we agreed to do our utmost, in order to open a direct flight between our capitals. I discussed with Prime Minister Mitsotakis the economic cooperation and the attraction of Greek investments, including in the context of the process of reconstruction of the cities from southern Ukraine,’’ the Moldovan president said.  

The head of state informed that Moldova was ready to detach, on the next days, 56 firemen to help extinguish the devastating fires faced by Greece, just as it did this in the years before. ‘’We are in solidarity with the friendly countries, when needed,’’ the Moldovan added.  

On 21 August, at an invitation by PM of Greece Kyriákos Mitsotákis, President Maia Sandu participated in a meeting in Athens, which brought together officials of the states from the Western Balkans, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Ukraine and European Union’s leaders.
