Moldovan Audiovisual Council sanctions four TV stations

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ - The TV stations Moldova-1, PRO TV CHIȘINĂU, TV8 and FAMILIA have not observed their concept of programmes and were sanctioned by the Audiovisual Council (CA) with 22,000 lei (about 1,100 euros).

According to CA, TV Moldova-1 made by over 5 per cent of its own production than it set to. This public TV station broadcast by 15 per cent more audiovisual production of other producers. At the same time, the TV station committed to broadcast programmes made by independent producers from Moldova, but did not have such programmes. The fine amounted to 5,000 lei.  

The FAMILIA TV station envisaged twice as many of its programmes than it actually had. The audiovisual productions of other producers accounted for 28 per cent, against 17.20 per cent promised. The informative and analytical programmes were absent, while the TV station committed to broadcast 4.17 per cent of such productions. The broadcasting of music was not planned; yet, the video clips not included in programmes accounted for over 17 per cent of all programmes. The sanction stood at 7,000 lei for these and other infringements.     

PRO TV CHIȘINĂU was set to broadcast 26 per cent of education and cultural programmes, but they had a proportion of a little bit more than 2 per cent. The TV station broadcast 26.31 per cent of other types of programmes, as compared with 11 per cent put down in the Concept. The sanction imposed was 5,000 lei.    

TV8 indicated 56 per cent of its own programmes; yet, 48.49 per cent was recorded. The TV station broadcast by almost four times more programmes of other producers. There were no educational and cultural programmes, although their share should have been 2.5 per cent. The fine was of 5,000 lei.   

Vocea Basarabiei TV (The Voice of Bessarabia TV) and TV Elita broadcast a larger volume of own programmes than the indicated one. Thus, to encourage the local production, the CA members ruled not to impose sanctions on them.  

For non-presentation of recordings, ART-CLUB SRL, the founder of the ART-TV TV service, was sanctioned with 5,000 lei. BTV, subjected to control, does not broadcast.
