Well-known film director of Romania special guest of Romanian Film Days in Chisinau

Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/ - A well-known film director, Cristian Mungiu, will be special guest of the ninth edition of the Romanian Film Days (ZFR), due to be held at Cineplex-Loteanu Movie Theatre on 21-24 September. The entrance to all films will be free.     

The event will be opened with the first-ever screening in Moldova of the most recent film made by Cristian Mungiu, R.M.N. (2022). ZFR dedicates to Mungiu the Focus section from this year, which will comprise the movies, 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days (2007) – the only Romanian full-length film which was awarded the prestigious prize Palme d`Or at the Cannes Festival, as well as his debut film, Occident (West) (2002).   

Cristian Mungiu will meet the audience from Chisinau following the screenings of R.M.N. and 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days.   

This year, the Romanian Film Days will take place also in another seven cities from Moldova: Hancesti (21 September), Nisporeni (22 September), Calarasi (23 September), Orhei (24 September), Soroca (28 September), Balti (30 September – 1 October) and Cahul (7-8 October). Some of the movies from the Chisinau selection will be presented in these settlements.    

ZFR is event organized by the Association of Independent Cinema Men from Moldova, Alternative Cinema and a production house of Romania. The project is carried out with the support of the Department for Relation to Moldova of Romania’s Government, Culture Ministry of Moldova, National Cinematography Centre of Moldova, Chisinau city hall, Mihai Eminescu Romanian Cultural Institute in Chisinau.
