Over 460 prosecutors participate in General Assembly of Prosecutors from Moldova

Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 466 prosecutors out of those 590 ones holding positions of prosecutor today participate in the General Assembly of Prosecutors, summoned following a three-year break.

In the beginning of the Assembly, Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru and the acting prosecutor general, Ion Munteanu, gave speeches before prosecutors.

The justice minister thanked the prosecutors for the massive presence at the Assembly and urged them to work, in order to fulfill the conditions as to the justice reform.

„Dear prosecutors, you have an extremely important mission. The society expects us to have efficient progress together. We, the Justice Ministry, have provided and will provide every needed support for the improvement of the instruments with which you work; yet, at the same time, we must together speak out for the uniform enforcement of the law and the practices in the field,’’ the minister said.

Prosecutor Ghenadie Pîrlii was elected head of the General Assembly and the head of the legislation and documentation section at the Apparatus of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP), Diana Lupascu, was elected as secretary general.

The prosecutors today are to elect the members of the Superior Council of Prosecutors and their deputies. The CSP’s activity report was also included on the meeting’s agenda.
