Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has had a discussion with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on a visit to Kiev, to participate in the third Crimea Platform Summit. The officials analyzed the present state of things on the segments of security, energy, infrastructure and the common pro-European agenda, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The Moldovan PM reconfirmed Moldova’s willingness to further back Ukraine, including through the support of the creation of a Special International Tribunal for the crimes of aggression against the neighbour country. Also, PM Dorin Recean showed support for the Peace Formula proposed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and reiterated the goal of strengthening the Moldovan-Ukrainian economic relations.
„Our country’s support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine remains firm. Our common goal is to promote peace in Europe and become members of the great European family. To fulfill this, we are resolute to enhance the bilateral cooperation between our countries. The first step – more trade, more connectivity, more joint projects for the benefit of our people,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
Today, PM Dorin Recean along with the participants in the Forum laid flowers at the Memorial Complex of the defenders who died for the freedom of Ukraine.
„We honoured the memory of those who died in battles for Ukraine – a wall full of photographs of women and men full of courage, who defended their Motherland and fought for our common values. Each picture is a lesson about the devotion and sacrifice. We should not forget these faces,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean also said.
