A half of those 50,000 bottles annually produced by the company are sold in European countries, Canada, Japan, which is a proof of the competitiveness of the Gogu wines. Wine-maker Ilie Gogu is set to extend his business and turn it into an ecological one: he intends to get the ecological certificate for vine and set photovoltaic panels, in order to use green energy in the production process. During the work, the winery benefited from subsidies on behalf of the state and financing on behalf of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
„The small and big businesses in the vine-growing and wine-making sectors from various regions of the country boost the local economy. They contribute to the enhancement of the rural tourism, through which the traditions of the Moldovan viticulture are promoted. We appreciate the fact that, in the last years, more wine producers have appeared on the local market, who stimulate the competitiveness on the domestic market, win new export destinations and promote the image of the Moldovan wines at specialized international contests,’’ the head of state said.
