Single Desk created with support of European Union, UNDP launched in south Moldova city

Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Cahul city’s resident starting from today will be able to benefit from the services provided by the city hall at a single access point, Cahul Single Desk. This desk will provide 17 services, for the beginning, with possibility of subsequent extension.
The arrangement works, as well as the technical assistance on the work of the Single Desk were provided by the programme, EU4Moldova: Focal Regions, financed by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme. The overall value of the project is of 157,000 euros, including the city hall’s contribution.
„The transparency, quickness, as well as the clarity on who is providing a service, accessibility to information and consultancy in fields of public interest is essential for the public administration. The launch of the Desk is just an element which boosts other administrative processes, in the context of digitalization. We thank the programme, EU4Moldova: Focal Regions, for support in the implementation of this important programme for our citizens,’’ the mayor of the Cahul city, Nicolae Dandis, said.
Among the services provided by the Cahul Single desk, there are: release of urbanism certificates for designing, certificates on the lack or existence of debts to the local budget, authorizations for constructions, recording for children’s registration in pre-school institutions, issuance of extracts from decisions and copies of decisions of the Municipal Council, etc.
The programme, EU4Moldova: Focal Regions (2019-2024) supports the intelligent, inclusive and sustainable social and economic development in the Cahul and Ungheni regions, in order to provide the citizens with a better quality of life. The programme’s overall budget is of 23 million euros; it is financed by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
