Chisinau, 25 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Border Police has informed that it would work at maximal capacity on the period of the national holidays. The institution also said that additional control lanes would be opened and the Reverse procedure would be enforced.

On the eve of the national holidays, when some of Moldova’s citizens will go abroad for leisure, the Border Police recommend that the citizens planning to cross the border verify the validity and the status of the travel document.

„If you plan to go abroad with minor children, make sure that you processed their passports (the certificate of birth is not a travel document) and we remind that the national legislation allows a parent travelling with the child without notary empowerment on behalf of the second parent,’’ reads a press release issued by the institution.

To avoid the appearance of queues and not to allow a considerable increase of waiting times, the Border Police recommend that the citizens diversify the choosing of border checkpoints for crossing the state border. Presently, there are eight border checkpoints with Romania and 33 – with Ukraine.

Also, the Border Police informs that the cooperation with the customs employees will be boosted at the state border crossing points, through the synchronization of the number of jobs at the border checkpoints, the infrastructure of the checkpoints will be used at the maximal level (opening of additional control lanes, enforcement of REVERSE); decision-makers will ensure the use of the stationary and mobile control technology. At the same time, in the state border zones, the competent authorities will establish filters of access to/from the border and will increase the number of mobile teams in risk sectors.
