Moldovan peacekeepers from Lebanon transmit powers to servicemen of Armenia

Chisinau, 25 August /MOLDPRES/ - The servicemen from the first contingent of the National Army, detached to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIUL) has transmitted its powers to peacekeepers from Armenia.
According to the Defence Ministry, at an authority transfer ceremony, held at the Sector West HQ UNP 2-3 multinational base from the Shama settlement, the commander of UNIFIL-1, Nicolae Tinevschi, transmitted the UN flag and the duties of the office to the chief of the contingent from Armenia, Hamayak Margaryan. The event took place in the presence of the commander of the Sector West, brigade general Giovanni Brafa Musicoro.
At the event, the commander of the support battalion, Dario Colaianni, awarded the Moldovan peacekeepers the UN Medal for Peacekeeping Missions.
UNIFIL is the first mission of the United Nations to which Moldova detached a contingent made up of 32 professional servicemen. They are to return home till the end of August, 2023.
