Chisinau, 25 August /MOLDPRES/ - The People’s Assembly of the Gagauz-Yeri Autonomous Territorial Unit (APG) resumed its works today afternoon, in the presence of the bashkan (governor), Evghenia Gutul, who had earlier demonstratively left the meeting. APG partially approved the decision on the region’s executive body.
The lawmakers also discussed details and, in the end, they approved the structure of the regional executive body, showing openness for a compromise, in order not to complicate the political situation in the region even more. In this respect, Evghenia Gutul was, nevertheless, told that she must optimize the structure and later return with proposals on staff cuts.
At the same time, APG ruled to remove from the agenda the draft on the nominal composition of the executive body and to get back to it at another time. Also, the legislative body of the Gagauz autonomy approved a declaration addressed to the Moldovan leadership, thereby demanding the revision of more decisions regarding UTA Gagauz-Yeri.
