Energocom buys about 300 million cubic metres of gas at weighted average price of about 424 dollars per 1,000 cubic metres in last July

Chisinau, 25 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom company held more tenders and purchased from its own financial sources about 300 million cubic metres of natural gas during June-July 2023, based on requests by Moldovagaz stock company. A part of the natural gas is meant for the current consumption, while another one was stocked in underground deposits in Romania and Ukraine and is  to be used in the 2023-2024 cold season.     

According to Energocom, the overall price of the procurements stood at 116.54 million euros, and the weighted average price is of 34.45 euros MWH. In addition, there are logistics costs worth about 8.92 million euros (about 2.64 euros/MWh), which imply expenses of transport of natural gas and costs for storing up. All tariffs related to the transportation and storing up are published on the webpages of the transport systems operators. Thus, the weighted average price of the procurements, transportation and storing up of natural gas was 37.09 euros/MWh (424.91 dollars/1,000 cubic metres).    

At the same time, according to the contractual clauses on confidentiality, the Energocom stock company is restricted in making public the details of the concerned contracts. Nevertheless, Energocom stock company informs that all aforementioned transactions were concluded with companies of Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Switzerland.   

Just as in case of other tenders, representatives of more institutions were present, among which: Public Property Agency, Energy Ministry, the prime minister’s controls corps, power wielding structures, as well as civil society’s representatives.
