PM says Moldova's democracy stronger through citizens' participation

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/ - The government organized a public communication event titled, Speaking with Citizens, on the occasion of the marking of the 32nd anniversary of the Republic of Moldova’s Independence. During the event, hundreds of people discussed with Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, ministers and public institutions’ representatives, the government’s communication and protocol department reported.
The citizens put questions concerning the authorities’ sectors of work, exchanged opinions on topical subjects and learned more about the governmental projects underway. The people said the action organized celebrated the democracy and confirmed the cabinet’s commitment to an open dialogue for each member of the society.
Following the discussions with the participants in the event, PM Dorin Recean said the citizens had confidence in Moldova’s future and the country’s irreversible European integration way: ‘’Our democracy is stronger through people’s participation. Everybody is willing to mobilize and work, so that we can edify Europe at home.’’
On the square behind the government building, those present were able to discuss with fruit growers, beekeepers, rescuers and firemen, representatives of the Border Police and future engineers. Also here, citizens talked with sportspeople – Moldova’s champions, men and women, in wrestling, watched a wrestling show and children participated in a painting workshop.
