PM meets new head of USAID Mission in Moldova

Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has received the new head of the Mission of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in Moldova, Jeff Bryan, and Ambassador of the United States to Moldova Kent Logsdon, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The officials tackled more subjects, with emphasis on USAID’s priorities of assistance and the continuation of the projects underway in sectors concerning the economic development, social cohesion, renewable energy and promotion of democracy. PM Dorin Recean referred to the most important goals on which progress should be made, such as the stimulation of the increase in the productivity and attraction of investments.
„We increase the investments in infrastructure, especially in the extension and modernization of the railway system. Certainly, we focus our efforts on the implementation of regional development projects, on the consolidation of the country’s energy security through backing green energy projects, as well as on the rapprochement with the European Union,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean stressed.
The new head of the USAID Mission in Chisinau, Jeff Bryan, appreciated the steps undertaken by the authorities in the advancement on the way of reforms and on the pro-European agenda of Moldova. The American official reconfirmed the organization’s support for backing the country’s democratic way.
