European Village programme: community centre from north Moldova village modernized

Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/ - The community centre from the Garbova village, northern Ocnita district, has been modernized. The works were carried out within the European Village Programme and cost 1.8 million lei (90,000 euros) – money earmarked from the National Fund of Regional and Local Development.
The money was used for the restoration of the façade of the building on an area of over 200 square metres and purchasing of 300 theatre chairs, which will provide comfort for participants in cultural events.
According National Office of Regional and Local Development (ONDRL), those over 1,200 residents of the Garbova village will benefit from the results of the project’s implementation. Also, 40 members of the dance band from this settlement will have at their disposal a revived room for rehearsal and shows and the pupils of the arts school will benefit from facilities for education and artistic practice.
The European Village programme includes 497 projects, of which 167 have been successfully finished. Fifty two out of all projects regard the renovation of community centres. projects have been successfully implemented.
