New post of voluntary rescuers, firemen inaugurated in central Moldova village

Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/ - A new post of voluntary rescuers and firemen today was inaugurated in the Capriana settlement, central Straseni district. The station was opened by the local public authorities, with the support and involvement of the Interior Ministry’s (MAI) General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU).
Attending the inauguration ceremony, Interior Minister Adrian Efros congratulated the local residents and the institutions involved in the post’s construction. He noted that MAI would back the development of the volunteering among firemen in the long run as well.
The voluntary post of rescuers and firemen from Capriana will provide safety for 2,640 residents of the village and the response time will shorten considerably and will be up to 5 minutes in the intervention area. Nine voluntary firemen and rescuers will work at the centre; they have been recently trained at the course of initial training of firemen and volunteers, organized by IGSU and Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, within the pilot project, Strengthening the capacities of civil protection in Moldova.
The Capriana post is the 67th operational territorial post of rescuers and firemen and the 20th post on the basis of volunteers, opened in Moldova with the involvement of the local public administration.
