Over 14,600 people call ambulance in Moldova in last week

Chisinau, 29 August /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 14,629 people called the ambulance last week and 6,133 patients were carried to hospital.
According to National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Centre (CNAMUP), the ambulance was called for patients for the following reasons: 2,501 cardiovascular diseases, of which 47 cases with acute coronary syndrome; 1,939 neurological problems, of which 210 cerebral vascular accidents; 1,780 respiratory problems, of which 1,038 acute viral respiratory infections and 1,601 traumatology problems, of which 353 in children.
During the last week, the ambulance’s intervention was requested in the case of 70 traffic accidents, in the wake of which 38 people were injured. Subsequently, 74 patients, of whom 15 children with various injures, were carried to hospital. At the same time, 47 calls were registered for reason of intoxication, of which 23 with medicines, eight with alcohol and two with mushrooms.
Also, CNAMUP registered 115 calls for emergencies triggered by physical, chemical and environmental agents, of which 72 cases represented bites of animals or stings of insects, 34 combustions, sunstrokes and two caloric syncopes.
