Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s fruits are for the first time ever presented at the prestigious international exhibition, Asia Fruit Logistica, staged in Hong Kong on 6-8 September.
The Asian market is one of those five strategic directions of export, according to the strategic programme of marketing and promotion of the sector of fruits for the 2023-2025 years, worked out by the Moldova Fruit Association, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and validated by the producers and exports of fruits from Moldova. In the context, Asia Fruit Logistica represents an extraordinary opportunity for fruits exports to promote their products on the Asian market – one of the biggest and the most dynamic ones in the world.
„Fruits of Moldova are exhibited at Asia Fruit Logistica at the country stand, Moldova – a special taste; Moldovan entrepreneurs here present their supplies of fruits, initiate discussions with importers and establish partnership relations with trades from such countries as Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. In 2022, these countries imported about 850,000 tons of apples in all. At the same time, in the previous season, Moldova exported to these countries, as well as of the Middle East – a market with a potential of about 450,000 tons – over 6,000 tons of apples. Thus, there are real possibilities to increase the export of fruits from Moldova to these markets,’’ Moldova Fruct said.
Asia Fruit Logistica, known as one of the biggest specialized exhibitions in the fruits’ industry from Asia, annually brings together 10,000 professional visitors from the field: importers, exporters, producers and providers from about 70 countries. This event represents a unique opportunity for Moldova Fruct and exporters to present the quality, diversity and potential of Moldovan fruits on the international market.
"Our task is to anchor Moldova on the map of the providers of fresh fruits for the importers of the region of Middle East and South-Eastern Asia,’’ the executive director of Moldova Fruct, Iurie Fala, said.
The participation of Moldova’s delegation in the exhibition, Asia Fruit Logistica, was organized with the support of the Invest Moldova Agency and the USAID-funded Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity Project.
