CNPF launched information hotline for financial services consumers

Chisinau, 11 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The National Financial Market Commission (CNPF) launched today the information hotline for financial services consumers.
Citizens are urged to call the telephone number 022 85 95 95 to report irregularities in relation to the observance of rights as consumers of financial services.
Consumers can report various situations, such as abusive practices and clauses related to the insurance contract, unjustified refusal to pay the insurance indemnity, non-compliance with the insurance compensation payment deadline, improper performance by the insurer of its obligations, procrastination in the settlement of compensation claims, any other non-compliant actions of insurance companies in the relationship with customers, disagreement with the calculation of penalties related to credit contracts concluded with non-bank lending organizations.
Citizens can also call the consumer phone if they are unclear about the legislation in the field or if they want to come up with opinions and suggestions to improve financial services.
As of July 1, the CNPF is responsible for supervising and protecting the rights of consumers of financial services in the fields of insurance, non-bank lending, the capital market, and starting with January 1, 2024, all financial services: banking sector, payment service providers, currency exchange units.
