Repair works of bridge over Prut Leușeni-Albita completed

Chisinau, 13 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The State Road Administration (ASD) announced today the completion of the repair work on the bridge located on the route M1 border with Romania - Leușeni - Chisinau - Dubăsari - border with Ukraine, km 0.

The reception committee, made up of ASD representatives, design company, contractor and authorities from Iași found that the works were carried out according to the imposed quality standards, respecting the execution project and the norms in force. "Thus, road and pedestrian traffic on the bridge was successfully reopened", ASD said.

The bridge over the river Prut, M1, km 0, is 163.6 m long and 8.84 m wide, of which the carriageway is 7 m, and the two sidewalks are 0.7 m each. In 2022, the road bridge undergoing rehabilitation was crossed by about 763,000 cars, 297,000 trucks and 46,000 buses, and the total number of passengers who crossed the bridge was about 3.8 million. 

"This bridge is of major strategic importance for the Republic of Moldova, contributing considerably to mobility, the transport of goods and people, as well as the development of trade between our country and Romania. The successful completion of these repair works brings significant benefits in terms of the safety and efficiency of road transport on this strategic route", ASD said.
