Registration period of candidates for first level constituencies starts tomorrow

Chisinau, 28 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Period for submitting documents for the registration of candidates for the general local elections begins tomorrow, for the first-level constituencies - mayors of villages, communes, cities and municipalities, councilors in village, town and municipal councils.

According to the Central Electoral Commission, political parties and electoral blocs will present the documents to the constituency electoral councils, and in the case of independent candidates, the same requirements are applied, but the subscription lists with the sufficient number of supporters' signatures will be presented. Independent candidates will personally come to the constituency electoral council and submit their subscription lists together with the necessary documents for registration.

The subscription list forms can also be requested starting tomorrow from the electoral council of the electoral district in the territorial area of which the independent candidate plans to run.

The schedule for receiving documents for the registration of candidates has been established by each constituency electoral council, the information can be found on the Commission's official website.

The general local elections will be held on November 5.
