Teachers from 50 schools to attend new professional training program

Chisinau, 28 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Education and Research launched today for the first time a new national program for continuous professional training of teaching staff - We invest in teachers, with a total budget of 6 million lei (300 thousand euros). 50 educational institutions from our country will be selected, and the trainers will go directly to the school to conduct the professional training courses. The program will be implemented by the end of this year.

The project is launched for the first time and provides new rules in the continuous professional training of teachers, compared to the programs previously organized in this regard.

The new program is a voluntary one, and schools will have to fill out a form available on the Ministry of Education's website. As a result, about 50 educational institutions will be selected, and about 50 teachers from each institution will be trained, or about 2,500 teachers in total, which would mean about 10 percent of the total number of teachers active in the system.

According to Minister Perciun, if the program is successful, then the authorities will expand it next year on a larger scale.

Participating schools and training institutions will be selected over the coming weeks.
