Chisinau, Oct. 3 /MOLDPRES/- By October 6, electoral contestants can request the replacement of a candidate from the list registered for the general local elections.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, until the election campaign begins, i.e. no later than 30 days before the election day, political parties and electoral blocs have the right to request the replacement of a candidate from the registered list by withdrawing him and appointing another candidate. The list of candidates can be completed. It will comprise at least 1/2 of the number of mandates provided for the respective electoral constituency and a maximum of seven alternate candidates.
The decision on amending the list of candidates is passed by the political party or the electoral bloc.
The constituency electoral council, in no more than three days from the date of submitting the application, adopts the decision on the modification of the list of candidates of the applicant electoral competitor or issues the IDs.
The general local elections will be held on November 5.
