Chisinau, Oct. 4 /MOLDPRES/- Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Russia Lilian Darii was summoned yesterday to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow, according to the Russian institution's website.
The Moldovan diplomat was handed a note of protest on "persecution of the Russian-language media in Moldova and the decision to expel head of the Sputnik Moldova news agency V.A. Denisov from the country".
The ambassador was informed that following the expulsion, the Russian side came up with a list of people who are banned from entering Russia.
Vitalii Denisov was expelled on September 13 from the Republic of Moldova and banned from entering the country for 10 years, suspected of "meddling in internal affairs". Then Moscow harshly criticized Chisinau's decision and announced a list of 20 people, including 18 MPs of the Action and Solidarity Party, deputy head of the Border Police Oleg Bucătaru and director of the Independent Press Association Petru Macovei, who are prohibited from entering the territory of the Russian Federation.
