Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Reintegration Policies Bureau has come up with a reaction to the new abusive measures of Tiraspol against the free movement.
The reaction reads:
”In the context of the information spread in the public space on Tiraspol’s intention to introduce, starting from 1 January 2024, alleged taxes on the transport means which exceed the total mass of 18 tons and which are not recorded in the region, we inform about the following measures undertaken.
Through the dialogue channel established, we notified the Tiraspol political representative in the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement, with the request to give up this illegal initiative, which creates artificial barriers to the free movement and to be aware of the effects of the legal liability of the decision-makers who take such decisions in the region.
We remind that this abusive action is a continuation of the string of challenges deliberately established by Tiraspol and which ask for illicit payments from drivers with Moldovan registration numbers, who cross the settlements of the region (alleged vignette taxes, obligation to the double civil liability insurance for car owners, etc.).
The concerned situation was brought to the knowledge of the national competent authorities, in order to be instructed the legal actions needed.’’
