Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has unveiled the draft of the National Security Strategy, which defines the dangers against Moldova’s security and the directions of actions suggested for strengthening the national security and the security of each citizen. The programme was announced following a today’s meeting of the National Security Council (CSS).
In the context of bloody wars unleashed in Ukraine and Israel, the head of state said that ‘’Moldova can protect its citizens only by being on the bright side of the mankind, of the free and democratic world.’’
„The draft National Security Strategy is based on three goals which provide for the security of each citizen, which means that the country must be protected and safe against any challenges. Also, we will create a strong and respected state, asking the free world to respect us, including Russia, which has been infringing our sovereignty in the last years. We will join the European Union, where peace is guaranteed and we will together contribute to the maintaining of peace on the whole continent,’’ Maia Sandu said.
According to the head of state, the fulfillment of this strategy is a common work and means taking Moldova out of threat and risk to be the next, if Ukraine falls.
The Moldovan president pointed out also the principal directions on which the strategy will be based. Among them, there is the enhancement of the investments’ sector, gradual progress made in the peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian settlement, security partnership with prosperous countries, fighting corruption, consolidation of the National Army, etc.
„The Moldovans must feel safe at home. Moldova wants to have good relations with everybody, yet, not also with the states which wish us evil and blackmail us by any means,’’ the head of state added.
