Drivers obliged to move with low beam lights on in Moldova also during day as of 1 November

Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ - Drivers are obliged to move with low beam lights on also during the day starting from 1 November. The measure is provided for in the Road Traffic Regulation.

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), the measure is imposed, in order to reduce the risk of occurring of traffic accidents because of the unstable weather, accompanied on this period by rains, fog and other weather phenomena, which significantly reduce the visibility in traffic, as well as because of the fact that it is getting dark quicker outdoors.

At the same time, drivers are urged to permanently adapt their speed to the weather and road conditions and keep a larger distance between vehicles. Also, drivers will be obliged to move with winter tyres on the period when the roadway is covered with ice, glazed frost or snow.

The measure to move with low beam lights on also during the day is valid till 31 March 2024.
