Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ - The electoral agenda of the 31 October day included a news conference held by the president of the National Alternative Movement Party (MAN), Ion Ceban, on the management of the social sector.
„We are set to continue those over 100 programmes on social support initiated for children, families at risk, people with special needs and elderly people. Despite the major crises and blockages which we have gone through in the last years, we managed to maintain inclusively the compensation of 40 per cent in invoices for the maintenance services and energy resources during winter,’’ Ion Ceban said.
In the last electoral week within the general local elections, the Coalition for Unity and Well-being (CUB) launched a public message, thereby urging the citizens of Moldova to go to vote.
At a today’s news conference, CUB president Igor Munteanu said that, in Chisinau, CUB had had a serious, articulated and well-reasoned campaign around two organic notions: CHANGE AND ATTITUDE. ‘’We relied on Ion Bulgac, a young candidate, but gifted with the best qualities which an efficient mayor needs: native intelligence, leadership, honesty; he will learn easily the rest, staying in the service of the public interest, not subduing it, just as all those conceived by the old nomenclature, by corruption, avidity, by transactions with Communist barons, oligarchs will do this,’’ the CUB leader said.
Also today, the president of the Political Party, For People, Nature and Animals (PONA), Ion Dron, gave a news conference. The politician tackled the fact that an instruction given to banks not to open accounts for the PONA party in the electoral campaign would come from the Presidency.
The RESPECT MOLDOVA MOVEMENT Political Party today launched a call to the state’s institutions to act firmly against the corruption which threatens with the shadowing of the general local elections.
„We notice, with concern, the appearance in public space of information on the attempt of corrupting the electoral process in Moldova and the immediate reaction of the state’s institutions is essential. The RESPECT MOLDOVA MOVEMENT resolutely asks the state’s institutions to act without hesitation and to adopt decisive measures against these illegal practices. Time is ripe now to ensure a fair, transparent ballot and without corrupt influences,’’ the formation’s declaration reads.
More than 1,500 national and international observers will monitor the general local elections due on 5 November 2023. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today accredited the last observers for the monitoring of the ballot due on next Sunday.
Also, CEC obliged several constituency electoral councils to consider the cancellation of the registration of the candidates nominated for the office of mayor and councilor on behalf of the Chance Political Party. Thus, the Central Electoral Commission took note of the notifications by law-enforcement bodies about the illicit actions of the Chance Political Party during the electoral campaign for the general local polls due on 5 November 2023.
