Over 60 projects completed under European Village, Express European Village Programs in October

Chisinau, Nov. 1 /MOLDPRES/- Over 60 projects were completed under the European Village and Express European Village Programs in October. Their value amounts to 135 million lei (6.75 million euros) from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. Following the implementation of the projects, about 126 thousand citizens in the country benefit from advantages and facilities.
Through the European Village Program, 28 local development projects were completed, 13 of which aimed at modernizing the water and sewage infrastructure in different localities of the Republic of Moldova. As a result, 117 km of aqueduct and 14 km of sewage networks were built, ensuring access to water and sanitation for more than 7,600 households. One of the examples is the project in Trușeni village, Chisinau municipality, where with an investment of almost 10 million lei, a 6.5 km long aqueduct, a water pumping station and two water tanks were built.
Also, through another five completed projects, educational institutions were rehabilitated and equipped, providing access to improved educational services for 900 students and approximately 150 employees. At the same time, the sports infrastructure in four other localities was modernized through construction and renovation projects of sports fields and leisure areas. An example of success is the capital repair of the roof of the Gymnasium in Mândâc village, Drochia district, for which the Government allocated 3.6 million lei.
Three other projects completed within the program concerned the development of General Urban Plans, while in three other localities Cultural Centers were renovated. An example in this sense is the project to reconstruct the roof of the House of Culture in Horești village, Ialoveni district, for which the Executive invested over 3 million lei.
In total, the European Village program includes 497 projects, of which 231 have been completed.
According to the National Office for Regional and Local Development (ONDRL), significant progress has also been made in the Express European Village Program. Of the 35 projects completed within the program, 19 concerned the development of sports and playgrounds, as well as the construction of access roads to various public institutions. Also, seven projects were dedicated to the installation of public lighting systems, thus contributing to the construction and modernization of 25 km of public lighting in various localities. In addition, six cultural institutions, two gymnasiums and a town hall were renovated.
The Express European Village program includes 399 projects, of which 48 have been completed.
