1,200 beds distributed to Moldovan hospitals

Chisinau, Nov. 1 /MOLDPRES/- 1,200 medical beds were distributed to public medical institutions of the country today.

Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco, Head of the EU Delegation to Chisinau Janis Mazeiks, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Moldova Kent Logsdon, program coordinator of the World Health Organization Office in Moldova Iuliana Garam participated in the event of distribution of the batch of beds.

The medical equipment will reach 30 district hospitals, three republican institutions and one municipal one. Of the total number, 200 beds are for children up to three years old, another 300 - children from three to ten years old and 700 - for children who are over ten years old, as well as for adults. Beds are provided with mattresses, pillows and bed linen.

The beds, worth 291 thousand dollars, were procured by the World Health Organization with the support of the European Union and the US Government.
