Moldovan parliament speaker participates in 50th anniversary of school from village on left bank of Dniester

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has participated in an event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the lyceum from the Dorotcaia village, Dubasari district, the parliament’s communication and public relations department reported.   

The holiday brought together tens of graduates, as well as teachers and pupils of the institution. ‘’ I am happy to see on stage both graduates and pupils. This proves that you are a strong community,’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said.  

Also, the parliament speaker congratulated the pupils and teachers. In the context, the headmaster of the institution and the staff of teachers received diplomas of the parliament. ‘’I was impressed by what I saw here. Some pupils are fond of robotics and IT and we have what to learn from them. Despite all challenges, the best resource are the pupils and the teachers have an important role – the one to develop the critical thinking, the empathy and capacity to propose ideas,’’ the parliament speaker stressed.   

Presently, about 300 pupils study at the Dorotcaia Theoretical Lyceum. In the last years, the institution has benefited from financial resources allocated from the state budget for the improvement of the conditions for education. This year, the school’s canteen was renovated and in 2022 – the sports hall. The repair works cost 2.3 million lei in all.
