Chisinau, Nov. 2 /MOLDPRES/- Chance Party's candidates for the posts of mayor and councilor in eight localities of the country have been excluded from the electoral competition. The district electoral councils took the decisions upon request of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
The head of the CEC's Communication Department, Rodica Sîrbu, said that the decisions were taken by the district electoral council of Târșiței, Telenești district; Țareuca, Rezina district; Ișcalău, Falesti district; Dobrogea Veche, Sangerei district; Merenii Noi, Anenii Noi district; Pitușca, Călărași district; Răculești, Criuleni district and Joltai, Găgăuzia. CEC's request was not executed by the district electoral council of Alexanderfeld village, Cahul district.
The CEC decision was taken on October 30, following a notification from the Intelligence and Security Service, the General Police Inspectorate and their territorial subdivisions. The CEC found "illegal financing of the formation and the electoral campaign, the use of undeclared funds and connections with the former political party Shor, declared unconstitutional".
At the same time, the CEC decided to deprive the Chance party of benefits from the state budget for a period of one year, starting from January 1, 2024.
The Chance party representatives rejected the accusations, and said "the evidence would not be conclusive".
