Man comes to Moldovan polling station with pistol, threats policeman to leave guard of ballot papers

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/ - A 52-year-old man has been detained for 72 hours, after he would have threatened a policeman from Rezina with a gun. The incident took place nearby a polling station from the Saharna-Noua settlement on the day of the general local elections - 5 November.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the press officer the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), Oxana Toderita, said the man had approached the policeman and asked him to leave the guard of ballot papers.
„The police employee asked the man to leave the location. At this point, the evil-doer took out a pistol and directed it to the policeman, threatening him with use of the firearm. The policeman managed to immobilize the man till be arrival of the operative group,’’ Oxana Toderita said.
During the examination of the case, it was established that the arm was a pneumatic gun.
A criminal file was opened on this case.
