Moldovan foreign affairs minister participates in third edition of Ministerial Summit for Information and Democracy

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu, at the Peace Forum in Paris, has  participated in the third edition of the Ministerial Summit for Information and Democracy. The event was opened by Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.        

On sidelines of the forum, Nicu Popescu informed about Moldova’s accession to two important initiatives – International Partnership for Information and Democracy and the International Fund for Public Interest Media – an effort meant to promote the freedom of opinion and expression, as well as to ensure the access to free and reliable information.    

In a complex context and with the boosting of the information war, the citizens of Moldova, as well as from all over the world are subjected to one of the key challenges – misinformation. At the same time, the Moldovan authorities are involved in the prevention and combating of this phenomenon, including through participation in such platforms.
