Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ - Energy Minister Victor Parlicov today came up with a reaction to the promises on the delivery of cheap gas to the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia.
„I think that everybody understood that they are not going and neither have capacity to deliver gas to anybody as of 1 December. No request was made for the change of the provider, which is a compulsory step to start the delivery of gas. It has not been gas, there is no gas and neither it will be. They made all this noise before the elections,’’ the minister said.
Victor Parlicov noted that there are certain rules on the free market of gas, which must be observed. One of these rules is that one cannot deliver gas to a certain region and discriminate the consumers from other regions,’’ the official also said.
„On the one hand, they tell us that the gas will be sold for 10 lei, with value added tax (VAT), to all consumers. Now, the price will be already 11 lei, without VAT. They said that the gas would be for all consumers and now they say that they start with the public institutions, while the procedure is even more complicated for the public institutions,’’ Victor Parlicov said.
The energy minister’s reaction comes after bashkan (governor) of Gagauzia Evghenia Gutul said that the residents from the Gagauz autonomy might pay a tariff of 10 lei for one cubic metre of gas.
