No person votes in Chioselia Rusa settlement from Gagauz Autonomy till 13:00

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - No person participated in the voting in the Chioselia Rusa settlement from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia till 13:00. The president of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Angelica Caraman, has presented figures to this effect.   

„We have two settlements where a quite low voter turnout is recorded. If we speak about the Cotovscoe village from UTA Gagauzia, we have less one 1 per cent there and we have a polling station where the voters ruled not to take part in the elections; it is about the Chioselia Rusa settlement from UTA Gagauzia, where there has been no vote so far out those 604 electors who are expected to vote,’’ Angelica Caraman said.     

The runoff election of the general local polls is held in 273 settlements of Moldova today. At the same time, repeated elections take place in eight settlements: for the office of mayor and local councilor in six settlements and only for the position of local councilor in two settlements. About 160,000 electors exercised their right to vote till 13:00, which is about 19 per cent of all citizens with right to vote registered in the electoral lists.
