Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ - The government has proposed to denounce seven new agreements concluded within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), ‘’which do not produce advantages for citizens or for the public institutions of Moldova.’’
The spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, said the documents proposed for denunciation referred to the sanitary protection, circulation of forged medicines, creation of a common technological space and are from such sectors as fiscal, energy and education.
According to Voda, so far, the authorities have identified over 100 treaties concluded within CIS, which do not produce value added for citizens.
„So far, denunciation procedures have been initiated for about 70 of these treaties. Those seven new agreements considered today will complete those 35 agreements which have been already denounced within CIS till this point. All state’s institutions examined the entire legal basis of two criteria: the benefit for the citizens and the benefit for the institutions. If these documents have no benefits, they are proposed for denunciation, as we do not need a padding legal framework, which is not producing necessary effects for our fellow countrymen,’’ Daniel Voda added.
According to the State Register of Treaties, held by the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, in nearly 2023, Moldova was party to 282 documents with status of international treaty within CIS.
