Chisinau, 23 November /MOLDPRES/ - Over 100 companies from diverse sectors of the economy participate in the second edition of the Entrepreneur Expo Exhibition, inaugurated at the Moldexpo International Exhibition Centre today. Concomitantly, Moldexpo hosts the 21st issue of the international specialized exhibition of furniture, equipment, tools, materials and accessories for the production of furniture, Expo Furniture.
Entrepreneur Expo is a reference platform for the promotion and support of small- and medium-sized businesses from Moldova. The current edition brings together over 100 native companies, covering diverse fields, such as the food industry, light industry, tourism, constructions, alternative energy. Through multiple bids, the exhibition represents, for the first time ever, a fair of services. A novelty of the event is the family business, which assets itself ever more in Moldova.
Deputy PM, Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba said the authorities had implemented more reforms for backing the business environment. ‘’We do not deserve the title of one of the poorest countries of Europe. We want to create an open environment for business, especially for small entrepreneurs, who are at the beginning of the road. This year, we saved about one billion lei for entrepreneurs, through our effort to reduce the bureaucracy alone. The money remained in the accounts of the business people, in order to invest it in development. Besides, 50 per cent from the public services for entrepreneurs have been digitalized,’’ Dumitru Alaiba said.
The deputy head for cooperation of the European Union’s Delegation, Adam Grodzicki, said that both in the European Union and in Moldova, the small- and medium-sized enterprises represented the vertebral column of the economic growth and were regarded, with good reason, as the main driving force for the sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
The Moldexpo director general, Carolina Chiper, said that Entrepreneur Expo had been launched one year ago, in order to back business people and at the present edition, the number of the participants was practically doubled.
The Expo Furniture exhibition was inaugurated at Moldexpo as well, after a break of three years. The exhibition brings together over 30 participants from Moldova and Romania and presents to visitors the most advantageous bids, including furniture for home, for the HoReCa sector, for offices and diverse institutions.
The executive director of the Union of Furniture Producers from Moldova, Eduard Scutaru, said the furniture industry of Moldova was, undoubtedly, one of the engines of development of the national economy, ranking fifth among the most important industries, with exports worth about 150 million dollars. According to Scutaru, the Moldovan furniture drew the attention of international markets and presently Romania is the destination of two thirds of the exports.
The exhibitions will be opened till 26 November.
