Chisinau, Nov. 28 /MOLDPRES/- The presidential decree on withdrawal of the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova from Alexandr Kalinin was published in the Official Journal today.

According to the document, the decree was signed based on Article 23 (1) c) of the Citizenship Law, which provides for "particularly serious acts that cause essential damage to the state".

Alexandr Kalinin is the leader of the Party of Regions of Moldova. He allegedly supported Russia's invasion in Ukraine.

This decree enters into force upon publication in the Official Journal.
