Moldovan electoral body has new member

Chisinau, Nov. 30 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament appointed Vadim Filipov as a member of the Central Electoral Commission today. 78 MPs voted for his candidacy.
Vadim Filipov has a degree in law and previously served as a member of the Central Electoral Commission.
Under the legislation, the Central Electoral Commission is a collegial body, made up of nine members. One member is appointed by the President of the Republic of Moldova, the other eight members are appointed by the Parliament, respecting the proportional representation of the majority and the opposition. CEC members are irremovable and cannot be members of parties and other social-political organizations.
