Chisinau, Nov. 30 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament voted today in the second reading a new law on the rights of the child, the provisions of which were connected to the UN Convention.
The document was set up by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, as the current provisions of the Law on the rights of the child, adopted in 1994, vaguely see the state's priority directions in the field, and some provisions have lost their relevance.
Accordingly, in the new law, every right of the child is fully described, according to the UN Convention. The main definitions are stipulated in the document. The principles of ensuring children's rights, the powers of central and local public authorities and their interaction in the process of ensuring respect for children's rights are elucidated.
At the same time, the text of the law was supplemented with new articles, aimed at the child's right to free expression, opinion and participation.
