Japan to help Moldovan farmers with fertilizers

Chisinau, 6 Japan /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan famers will be helped by Japan. An Agreement on Grant between the governments of Moldova and Japan on the carrying out of the project, Supply of farmers with fertilizers, was signed in Chisinau today.

The document, which provides for a non-refundable support worth 1.9 million euros, was signed by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu and Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Yamada Yoichiro.

The Moldovan diplomacy head thanked the Japanese partners for the support provided to Moldova.

„The agreement signed today proves once again the support provided by Japan for the development of Moldova, in order to attenuate the negative impact triggered by the situation in Ukraine and strengthens the capacity of our agricultural sector, of our farmers to continue to develop, to modernize,’’ the minister noted.

Japanese diplomat Yamada Yoichiro reiterated the support of its country for Moldova.

The project, Supply of farmers with fertilizers, will be implemented by the Agency for Development and Modernization of Agriculture.
