Bilingual Spanish education to be implemented in Moldova

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Education and Research Ministry (MEC) of Moldova and the competent ministry of Spain will conclude an agreement on cooperation in the field of bilingual sections. The cabinet of ministers today approved the initiation of negotiations to this end.
Thus, decision-makers will ensure the legal framework needed in the organization of the bilingual Spanish education at several secondary education institutions of Moldova. More exactly, under the agreement due to be signed, the Spanish side will provide Moldova with support to train teachers of Spanish language, in establishing ways of teaching the language, will give access to the relevant digital resources and teaching materials and will consider possibility of awarding graduation diplomas on behalf of Spain.
At the cabinet meeting, Minister Dan Perciun said this agreement would facilitate the Moldovan-Spanish cooperation in the education sector and would provide more opportunities for the implementation of European standards in the schools involved. ‘’Through the creation and work of Romanian-Spanish bilingual classes at lyceums of Moldova, the agreement opens a new stage in the development of the bilateral cooperation relations, meant to give the pupils from the involved institutions special opportunities of training and to get Moldova’s education even closer to the European standards,’’ the minister noted.
Presently, Moldova has experience in the implementation of Francophone bilingual classes at eight education institutions, with the support of partners from France.
