Moldovan president discussed with delegation of US experts about strengthening support for region

Chisinau, Feb. 5 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu had a meeting with a group of experts, opinion leaders and heads of non-governmental organizations from the USA focused on strengthening support for the region, the presidential press service has reported.

The discussion concerned strengthening democratic processes in Moldova, regional security issues and the support offered by the United States to countries in the region, in the context of Russia's war against Ukraine.

Maia Sandu appreciated the generous support offered to the Republic of Moldova by the US Government, directly or through international organizations, such as the UNHCR, for the management of the humanitarian crisis caused by the Russian invasion of the neighboring country.

The head of state also emphasized the importance of continuing to support Ukraine in the neighboring country's efforts to repel Russian military aggression, stressing that this support is vital for the security of Moldova and our citizens, as well as for stability on the entire continent.
