EcoContact public association of Moldova nominates beneficiaries of programme of small grants for environmental NGOs

Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/ - The EcoContact public association today announced the preliminary results of the programme of small grants for the environmental NGOs titled, Active citizens for a sound environment and green justice.
According to the quoted source, in 2023, eight projects were started within the programme of small grants (PMG) for the environmental NGOs, Active citizens for a sound environment and green justice. This programme is part of the project, A Green Justice for a protected environment and sustainable communities in Moldova, financed by Sweden and implemented by EcoContact. The overall budget for the carrying out of those eight projects is of about 2.81 million lei (over 140,000 euros). The PGM’s period of implementation is 12 months on average.
„In the first round, out of those 16 proposals of project, seven ones were nominated for financing and following the second call, a single proposal of project was allowed for financing, being qualified under the technical, financial aspects, feasibility and sustainability of activities. Thus, following the selection process, the PGM beneficiaries are eight non-governmental associations from various regions of Moldova,’’ EcoContact said.
The PGM’s goal is to back the initiatives as to the settlement of the local environmental problems, to promote, support and facilitate the public’s participation in taking decisions and elaborate local regulations with environmental aspects.
