Romania to firmly support Moldova's integration process

Chisinau, Feb. 6 /MOLDPRES/- Romania will firmly support Moldova's integration process. Reform efforts are visible and appreciated. Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Luminița Odobescu made the statements at a briefing.

The Moldovan official said that the last two years were for Moldova a great challenge, but also an opportunity to advance on the European integration side. He was assured that Romania will continue to strongly support our country in the European integration process.

"We maintain a close, intense communication with Romania, in a difficult geopolitical context caused by the unjust war of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, a war that directly affects us, both states and the entire region. The last two years have been a great challenge for the Republic of Moldova, but also an opportunity to transform positively on the European integration. In this process, we benefited from massive assistance from Romania in the development, modernization and resilience of our state", he said.

"Romania will continue to firmly support Chisinau in the reform and accession to the EU, we consider both political and technical support. The Chisinau authorities have shown courage and political will for the direct approach to reforms in some areas essential for integration into the European Union", Luminița Odobescu said.

Popșoi pays a working visit to Bucharest on February 5-6 following an invitation of Romanian Foreign Minister.
