General Police Inspectorate says 64 accidents with involvement of pedestrians recorded in Moldova since early 2024

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - Sixty four accidents with the involvement of pedestrians, which resulted in 12 people dead and 53 injured ones, have been registered since the beginning of this year.
In the context, law-enforcers urge people not to cross the street, when a vehicle with priority traffic regime is coming. At the same time, it is important that pedestrians do not cross the roadway in the front side or in the back side of the public transport means at stops.
Also, policemen urge people to cross the street only on crosswalks, without earphones or the phone in the hands. If you cross the street with the child, it is important that you hold him/her by the hand.
According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), on the same period of the last year, 75 accidents were recorded with the involvement of pedestrians, in the wake of which 10 people died and 68 were injured.
