Prosecutors demand preventive arrest for man who hit, killed minor in central Moldova village

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Prosecutor’s Office for Combating the Organized Crime and Special Causes (PCCOCS) informs about the prosecution of the man who hit and killed a 14-year-old child in the Bolduresti village, central Nisporeni district, and left the scene of the accident on 19 February. The prosecutors submitted an approach on the enforcement of the preventive arrest for 30 days against the accused man.
According to PCCOCS, the Chisinau Court is to establish the date and time of the approach’s consideration.
The quoted source said that, after committing the accident, the man had feigned another accident with the same already deteriorated official car, in order to mislead the law-enforcers.
Nevertheless, the man aged 47 years was detained on 21 February and the file was submitted to be managed by PCCOCS. Now, prosecutors investigate the evidence. Law-enforcers detained also the person who had contributed to the suspect’s evading the punishment, when he changed the matriculation plate of the vehicle which triggered the accident.
On 21 February, the mayor of the Bolduresti settlement, Nisporeni district, was detained, being suspected of hitting and killing a 14-year-old child and of leaving the place of the accident.
