Chisinau, 27 March /MOLDPRES/ - Three projects worth over six million lei (300,000 euros) have been finished in the Fundurii Vechi village, northern Glodeni district. The projects are financed, to a great extent, through the European Village National Programme and Express European Village. They led to the improvement of the conditions for education and hygiene at the kindergarten and gymnasium from this settlement.
A kindergarten with 120 places was opened following the re-arrangement and repair of the first floor of the gymnasium’s building. Thus, modern conditions were created for five groups, which benefit from separate entries and spaces, such as sleeping rooms and sanitary units. The kindergarten was endowed with a spacious hall for festivities. The government of Moldova invested 5.1 million lei in this project, through the European Village National Programme.
At the same time, the settlement won a project worth 348,000 lei, within the Express European Village Programme, for the endowment of the newly created kindergarten with furniture and accessories. The money was allocated from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development.
Also, a project on the repair of the sanitary units of the gymnasium has been recently finished, within the project, Creation of good sanitary conditions for the education institutions, worth 606,000 lei. Thus, two sanitary units were repaired, one for girls and another one for boys. The gymnasium has about 200 pupils and 32 employees. Such projects are part of an extended programme started by the Education and Research Ministry, which regards the modernization of the sanitary facilities in primary schools, gymnasiums and lyceums nationally.
The mayor of the Fundurii Vechi village, Anatolie Gnatiuc, said that these projects had led to the improvement of the conditions of education, hygiene and comfort at the school and kindergarten from the settlement. ‘’Now, those over 300 children will learn in safe conditions and parents can go to work untroubled,’’ he noted.
The European Village national programme was launched at initiative by President Maia Sandu in 2022. Initiatives on settlements’ development are financed within this programme. About 500 projects worth more than 2 billion lei were selected at the first issue of the contest.
