Chisinau, April 7 /MOLDPRES/- Presidency will host a photo exhibition on 7 April events.
All those interested are invited to come on Sunday, April 7, from 10:00 to 14:00 to participate in a history lesson presented in the lobby of the Presidency by Igor Cașu, historian and director of the National Archives Agency. During the week of 8-14 April, the doors of the Presidency will be open from 17:00 to 19:00, Monday to Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday - from 12:00 to 14:00.
"7 April 2009 will always remain as an unopened wound of the consequences of an authoritarian regime, which imprisons its free-thinking young people, wants to rule by fear and is afraid of its own citizens. But 7 April will also remain in our history as a symbol of resistance, courage and the strength of a people who want to be free. Democracy means, in fact, believing in our power to create our own destiny. When this right is trampled on, let us stand up against evil," said President Maia Sandu.
"Young people have certainly experienced disappointments, but no one has managed to destroy their dignity and moral strength to face injustice. It is also thanks to them that today we do not live in a closed state where people are afraid to think and speak freely. Today the Republic of Moldova remains a democratic state, where rights are respected and power is in the hands of the people. Today the gates of the Presidency are open, as a symbol of the basic value for which young people fought in April 2009 - freedom. The freedom of every individual and our freedom as a people," the President said.
