About 120 kindergartens from Chisinau to cease working on summer period

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - About 120 pre-school education institutions from Chisinau will cease working on the summer period. The deputy head of the education, youth and sport general department of the Chisinau city hall, Andrei Pavaloi, today made statements to this effect at an operative meeting of the city hall’s services.   

According to Pavaloi, following consultations carried out with parents, most institutions will cease their work in July, as a low attendance of children is recorded on this period – 30 – 40 per cent of all number.

„During June-August 2024, 117 institutions will cease their activity for a period from two weeks up to one month. Ninety eight of the institutions are from the Chisinau city and 19 are from its suburbs,’’ Andrei Pavaloi said.    

The city hall’s representative stressed that, on the period when the kindergartens will not work, the parents would be able to register their children at the pre-school institutions from the neighbourhood.    

There are 170 pre-school education institutions in the Chisinau municipality, attended by over 38,000 children.
